Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 Set to Release in January 2024

The Blue Stage presentation of Mashle: Magic and Muscles at Jump Festa 2024 featured the voice actors of Mash Burnedead (Chiaki Kobayashi), Finn Ames (Reiji Kawashima), Rayne Ames (Yuuki Kaji), and Ryoh Grantz (Junichi Suwabe). Together, they unveiled the new promotional video for the upcoming anime.

After an extensive discussion about the anime, the voice actors proceeded to unveil the new promotional video for Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2. The announcement confirmed that the second season is scheduled to debut on January 6 at 11:30 p.m. JST.

The freshly revealed promotional video provided glimpses of the upcoming Divine Visionary Selection Exam Arc, shedding light on the challenges at hand. This time, Mash faced the critical task of passing the Divine Visionary Selection Exam, with the consequence of potential punishment looming if he failed to demonstrate magical abilities.

The sequel will see the return of Tomoya Tanaka as the director, with animation by A-1 Pictures. Yosuke will resume his role in overseeing the series composition, and the character designs are crafted by Hisashi Tojima. The opening theme song, titled „Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,“ is performed by Creepy Nuts, as revealed in the teaser trailer earlier this year.

Previously, Studio A-1 Pictures, under the direction of Tomoya Tanaka, animated the first season of the Mashle anime. Yosuke Kuroda was responsible for the series composition, and Hisashi Tojima contributed as the character designer. The anime is an adaptation of Hajime Komoto’s manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July of the current year, comprising a total of 162 chapters.

Crunchyroll is the streaming platform for the anime and provides the following plot summary:

This is a world of magic.
This is a world in which magic is casually used by everyone.
In a deep, dark forest in this world of magic, there is a boy who is singlemindedly working out.
His name is Mash Burnedead, and he has a secret. He can’t use magic.
All he wanted was to live a quiet life with his family, but people suddenly start trying to kill him one day and he somehow finds himself enrolled in Magic School. There, he sets his sights on becoming a “Divine Visionary,” the elite of the elite.
Will his ripped muscles work against the best and brightest of the wizarding world?
The curtain rises on this off-kilter magical fantasy in which the power of being jacked crushes any spell!
