What Can We Expect from The 3rd Season of Jujutsu Kaisen

For fans unfamiliar with the manga arcs of the series, it’s essential to note that there are two intervening arcs between the conclusion of the Shibuya Incident Arc and the upcoming Culling Game Arc. The Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 finale seamlessly aligns with the conclusion of the Shibuya Incident Arc, paving the way for the adaptation of the next two arcs: Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc.

While the announcement labels the upcoming anime as an adaptation of the Culling Game Arc, it’s important to understand the logistical reason behind this decision. The Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc, when combined, span a relatively shorter length of 22 chapters. In contrast, the Culling Game Arc boasts a more extensive narrative, encompassing 63 chapters. Given that the anime’s second season successfully covered 73 chapters, it becomes plausible for MAPPA to animate Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, incorporating a total of 85 chapters.
