The highly-anticipated “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime has announced its official artists for the opening and ending theme songs. The second season, set to premiere on July 6th on MBS, TBS, and 28 affiliated channels, will feature Tatsuya Kitani’s “Ao no Sumika” as the opening theme song and Soushi Sakiyama’s “Akari” as the ending theme song. Both singles are set to release on July 19th. Fans will also get a preview of the opening theme song on May 21st during the Jujutsu Kaisen segment of the “MAPPA STAGE 2023” event.
The “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc and the “Shibuya Incident” arc will be adapted in the second season, which will air for two cours (quarters of a year) continuously. Shōta Goshozono will replace Sunghoo Park as the director for this season, and new cast members include Anna Nagase as Riko Amanai and Takehito Koyasu as Toji Fushiguro.
The Jujutsu Kaisen anime first premiered in October 2020, with 24 episodes, and Crunchyroll streamed it outside of Asia, with English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German dubs. The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film, based on Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō manga prequel story, premiered in Japan in December 2021 and with English subtitles and dub in the US and Canada on March 18th.
The Jujutsu Kaisen franchise has gained a massive following since its launch, with fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming anime season and film.
