Due to the postponement of episode 8 of the Oshi no Ko anime to Wednesday, June 7, a special episode will be broadcasted this week on Wednesday, May 31, at 11:00 pm JST. The special episode is set to premiere on TOKYO MX and other Japanese TV networks.
In the previous episode, Aqua collaborated with his fellow co-stars to assist Akane Kurokawa. Together, they produced a video that unveiled the truth about Akane and Yuki’s relationship. Their plan proved successful, resulting in Akane’s return to the show. However, upon her comeback, she adopted a new persona, closely resembling that of Ai Hoshino.
Due to the delay of Oshi no Ko episode 8 until June 7, a special episode is planned to air on Wednesday, May 31. This special episode will serve as a recap of the first seven episodes released thus far.
The initial schedule for Oshi no Ko season 1 possibly extended until Wednesday, June 28, 2023. However, with only 11 episodes planned for the first season, the anime would have concluded much earlier if episodes were released weekly. As a result, the show’s producers decided to take a break in order to align the anime properly with the schedule.
Instead of continuing with new episodes, the anime will present a special recap episode. This recap will not only summarize the story so far but will also include interviews with Takeo Ootsuka and Yurie Igoma, the voice actors behind Aqua and Ruby, respectively.
Not only Oshi no Ko, but other anime series like Mashle: Magic and Muscles and Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku have also experienced delays this season.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles opted to release a recap episode during its delay, while Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku went on a complete hiatus. However, it was later disclosed that the reason for the delay in Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku was a tennis match.
