DRAGON BALL - SPARKING ZERO! UNVEILS NEW MASTER AND APPRENTICE TRAILER

Bandai Namco just dropped a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4, also known as Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero. They haven't announced a release date yet, but watching this trailer will definitely trigger some serious childhood nostalgia.

Remember those days spent battling it out in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi? Since 2007, there have been loads of Dragon Ball Z games, but many still swear by Budokai Tenkaichi as the best. Now, after 17 years since Budokai Tenkaichi 3, we're finally getting a fourth installment: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero!
Get ready for the long awaited return to the series!

DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI NOSTALGIA RETURNS IN THE NEW SPARKING ZERO MASTER-APPRENTICE TRAILER

Bandai Namco just dropped another exciting trailer for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game, and it's got fans buzzing. The trailer, titled Master and Apprentice, is packed with reveals—more characters joining the roster and stages that feel like they're straight out of the anime. But what really caught the attention of longtime players is the return of a gameplay mechanic from Budokai Tenkaichi 3, now polished to perfection in Sparking Zero.

Ah, the classic days of Budokai Tenkaichi 3, where opponents would get up close, swinging away, only for every punch and kick to be deftly dodged, draining their Ki in the process. That move? Sonic Sway. It made its debut in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 , becoming a go-to defensive tactic for turning the tide of battle. In the latest Sparking Zero trailer, at the one-minute mark, we see Gohan effortlessly dodging Videl's attacks, showcasing the return of Sonic Sway.

Sonic Sway isn't just about dodging—it sets up a perfect opportunity for a counterattack. Gohan takes advantage, giving Videl a swift kick to create some distance. While Sonic Sway has appeared in other Dragon Ball games like Xenoverse 2, it was usually limited to certain fighters. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was unique in that every character could pull it off, and its comeback in Sparking Zero is a thrilling development for fans.

In the latest Sparking Zero trailer, Bandai Namco showcased four different versions of the Z fighter. We see Kid Gohan training with Piccolo after Goku's sacrifice against Raditz, Adult Gohan teaching Videl during the Great Saiyaman Saga, and a standout appearance from Future Gohan, who lost his arm due to the Androids and trained Trunks (Sword) to face the looming threat.

The glimpse into the dystopian world of The History of Trunks and the characters like Trunks (Sword), Future Gohan, and their Super Saiyan forms in the trailer promise an exceptional addition to the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

While there's still no official release date, we've learned that Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Zero will be launching on PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam. And there's good news for Nintendo Switch fans too—it's expected to be available there as well. Till further updates, you can check out the official gameplay breakdown for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero here.
