Dr. Stone Season 4 Confirmed, New World Final Episode Trailer Revealed

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the X user known as @WSJ_manga, a reputable source for general anime news, announced that Dr. Stone season 4 had been officially confirmed. Despite the excitement surrounding this revelation, it appears to lack validation from other reliable sources and remains unconfirmed, existing primarily as hearsay.

@WSJ_manga asserts that their information on Dr. Stone season 4 originates from an author comment made by Riichiro Inagaki, the creator of the original manga series, in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump. Specifically, the comment is part of the magazine’s fourth and fifth double issue for the 2024 year, scheduled for official release on Monday, December 25, 2023.

At present, @WSJ_manga provides no additional details regarding the release of Dr. Stone season 4 beyond the purported official announcement. It is worth noting that this limited information aligns with the fact that the third season of the television anime series is expected to conclude on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Dr. Stone Season 4 Leak Source

@WSJ_manga’s post did provide additional insights into what fans can expect from Dr. Stone season 4. According to the post, the series is set to “head towards its conclusion” in the upcoming season. For context, as the fourth season premieres, there are approximately 90 chapters left to adapt from the original manga’s total of 232.

While this fourth season might mark the conclusion of the anime series, it could also signify the conclusion of the television anime format. In such a scenario, the remaining chapters could potentially be adapted into a movie, a trend observed in many anime franchises that has proven to be both financially successful and critically acclaimed.

Regardless, Dr. Stone season 4 is likely to be the penultimate installment in the anime adaptation of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s original manga series. Whether it will be succeeded by a movie or a fifth television anime season remains uncertain at the time of this article’s writing. However, fans can anticipate that promotional material for the fourth season will offer some insight into the franchise’s plans as it begins to release.

Studio TMS Entertainment handles the animation for “Dr. Stone: New World” (Season 3), encompassing the “Treasure Island” arc with 22 episodes divided into split-cours. Shuuhei Matsushima serves as the director, with Yuichiro Kido managing the series composition and script. Much of the Season 2 staff, including Yuko Iwasawa (character designs), Shunichiro Yoshihara (art director), Jin Aketagawa (sound director), and Takeshi Katsurayama (director of photography), have returned for this season.

“Dr. Stone” is an anime adaptation of the original manga series penned by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. The manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022, spans 26 volumes, all published in English by VIZ Media.

As of December 2023, the “Dr. Stone” manga boasts over 14 million copies in circulation. Additionally, the series has introduced a three-chapter sequel titled “Dr. Stone: 4D Science,” available for readers on the official Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus app.

VIZ Media describes the Treasure Island arc, starting from Volume 12, as follows:
“The Kingdom of Science is now in uncharted waters! Motivated to find out the meaning behind the cryptic message they intercepted, Senku and a select few prepare for a long overseas voyage.
